Portfolios with Purpose (PwP), an education non-profit committed to creating a more diverse, inclusive, and accessible investment community, has announced their 2022 sponsor — San Francisco-based institutional financial services firm, Penserra.
The sponsorship will support PwP in scaling their online learning platform and PwP Fellowship — a two-week instructor-led program designed to diversify the industry and empower historically underrepresented young investors, including those who identify as Black, LatinX, and female.
The Fellowship — open to next-generation investors, regardless of background, skill level, or previous experience — explores real-world investing concepts like stock valuation, portfolio construction, and risk management, applied to real financial markets.

PwP’s 2021 Fellowship cohort garnered nearly 300 applicants with diverse backgrounds spanning Economics, Business, History, Computer Science, and more. One hundred and nine students were selected to participate, representing 64 colleges and universities across HBCU, Ivy league, City and State networks, including CUNY, Harvard, Howard, NYU, and Virginia Tech.

About the PwP Fellowship
The PwP Fellowship is a two-week instructor-led immersion program designed to create new pathways into the industry and empower historically underrepresented communities including those who identify as Black, LatinX, and females.
The curriculum covers the basics of investing and allows students to engage with industry thought leaders, employers, peers, and PwP alumni. Graduates earn a certificate of completion and have a chance to win one of three $1,000 educational stipends through a portfolio-building contest.
